Welcome to SLO Sober
Living Bold, Brave, + Substance Free in San Luis Obispo
Sobriety isn’t a sacrifice, it’s a superpower.
From Dive Bars to Finish Lines
Hi! I’m Amber Graziano👋
I am a mother. A runner. A fighter. A truth-teller.
I burned my life down to build something better.
I traded bottles for finish lines, shame for strength.
I’ve been the star athlete. The drunk driver.
The one who lost it all—
and the one who clawed her way back.
Sobriety didn’t just save me.
It gave me power, purpose, freedom.
I’ve run Boston.
I’ve run 77 miles in a day.
I’ve run from addiction straight into my truth.
SLO Sober isn’t a brand.
It’s a rebellion.
For runners, parents, misfits, and the misunderstood.
For anyone who knows they’re meant for more.
Sobriety isn’t punishment.
It’s a power move.
So lace up. Stand tall. Rise with us.
This is SLO Sober.
This is me.
And this can be you, too.

🧠by the numbers: why this works
Running and sobriety go hand-in-hand— and the data proves it.
✅People in recovery who set a fitness goal are 2x more likely to stay sober. ➡️ Movement gives your recovery a rhythm and a reason.
✅Only 0.17% of people in the U.S. have ever finished a marathon. ➡️ That means when you cross that finish line, you’re not just sober, you’re in the most elite category of marathon runners alive.
✅A “Runner’s High” mimics the same feel-good chemicals as alcohol or drugs, without the crash.➡️Get high on movement, clarity, and self-esteem.
✅Suicide risk drops by 25% among those in recovery who exercise regularly.➡️ Running doesn’t just change your body— it can save your life.
🏃♀️➡️Join the movement and see for yourself why most marathon runners keep running marathons over + over again…

what people are saying
“I had the most magnificent and magical experience at the 2024 San Luis Obispo Retreat! Between the race, hiking and all the fellowship, it will always be one of my favorite adventures.”
“Freaking awesome. I was looking for real connection, and what I found was more than I ever expected. Retreats are magical and transforming, loaded with opportunities to challenge your body at any level you happen to be at. Resting as needed, complete acceptance, camaraderie and moments shared with laughs so deep and authentic that there was no more room for self-doubt. What started as a “Facebook Group I was meeting up with” ended up becoming a group of friends I look forward to meeting up with again and again.”
“It was an amazing experience of togetherness of like-minded warriors in the most magical scenery.”
“I loved every single second of the retreat. Thank you Amber for all you do!”
“Thank you for all you do, and creating such a welcoming space for us to rebuild ourselves in recovery.”
